What is ghost mannequin photography?
A ghost mannequin photo shows a garment with its real 3D shape, as if worn by an invisible body. You see the inside of the collar and the back of the neck, but no mannequin and no model. It is the standard product photo for tops, dresses, jackets and knitwear on most e-commerce sites.
The traditional way takes two photos per piece on a special dress form with removable parts, then an hour or more of Photoshop to remove the form and stitch the inside of the neck back in. A flat lay is the other common option: the piece laid on a flat surface and shot from above.
